Guide
This follows the Ukrainian books: Year 5 item 26 "Proper and improper fractions"; Year 6 part 1 item 14 "Finding a number from the value of its fraction", item 17 "The decimal approximation of a fraction" and item 20 "The percentage ratio of two numbers". A bar is the whole. The child shades parts or types a number.
A proper fraction has a numerator smaller than the denominator; an improper one has a numerator bigger than or equal to the denominator. To find a number from the value of its fraction, divide the value by the numerator (one part) then multiply by the denominator; or divide the value by the fraction. Percents are first written as a fraction: 70% = 0.7.
The percentage ratio of two numbers is their ratio expressed as a percent: a : b · 100%. To find the decimal approximation of a fraction to a given place, divide numerator by denominator to the next place and round.
