counting and comparing to 10

Match apples one to one, count them and compare. Then meet the signs <, > and =.

Guide

This studio is for Year 1. Your child works with apples and counters and answers by tapping a number or a sign. If they can't read yet, read the sentences to them.

It starts with matching: one apple for each place. Even without counting, a child can see which group has more. Then they count into a ten-frame; a row holds 5, so 7 is "5 and 2 more".

Finally two rows are compared with <, > or =. The open mouth of the sign always faces the bigger number.
