Guide
This studio is for Year 1. Children draw by tapping dots, so no typing is needed. Read the sentences aloud if your child is not reading yet; the small picture at the top also shows what to do.
The dotty board works like a pinboard and elastic band: each tap joins a new dot to the last one. To finish a shape, tap the first dot again. Undo removes the last dot.
A triangle has three straight sides and three corners, whichever way up it is. A shape that is not closed is not a triangle. A square has four equal sides and four square corners; a rectangle has square corners too, but its sides are not all equal.
A line of symmetry is a fold line: fold the shape along it and the two halves match exactly. The diagonal of a rectangle is not a line of symmetry; folding a paper rectangle shows why.
