Fractions on a number line

Fractions are numbers too, and each one has its own place on the number line. Split the space from 0 to 1 into equal parts and place points.

Guide

On a number line, numbers get bigger from left to right: 0 is on the left and 1 is to its right.

The space from 0 to 1 is one whole. The small marks split it into equal parts. If there are 4 parts, each part is 14, and three parts along from 0 you reach 34.

Tap the line to place a point. You can drag a point, or tap it and move it with the arrow keys. A point always lands on the nearest small mark.

Some fractions are bigger than 1, like 54. These are called improper fractions. 54 is one whole and another 14. Written as 114, it is called a mixed number.
