Cube buildings: building plans and views

Read a building plan with heights, draw the front and top views and work out how many cubes a building has at most.

Guide

A cube building is made of stacks of cubes. In a building plan (Bauplan) every square holds a number: the height of the stack on that square. 2 means two cubes on top of each other, 0 means nothing is built there.

You can look at a building from the front, from the right or from above. In the front view you see the highest stack of each column, because lower stacks hide behind it. The top view (plan) shows which squares are built on.

In this studio you turn the building, count its cubes, draw views and decide how many cubes a building may have if you only know its views. The row at the back of the building is written first.
