Guide
This studio is for Years 1 and 2. Children answer by tapping shapes and dots. Read the sentences aloud if your child is not reading yet.
A closed shape has as many corners as sides. A circle has no corner. A square and a rectangle both have four square corners, but a square has four equal sides while a rectangle only has equal opposite sides.
Fold a shape along a line of symmetry and the two halves match exactly. A rectangle has two lines of symmetry, one across and one down. Its diagonal is not one.
Equal parts must all be the same size. To cut into two equal parts the cut goes through the middle.
