Find the number on the number line and see which ten, hundred or thousand it is nearest to. A number exactly halfway rounds up.

To round, put the number on the number line and see which end it is nearer to.
To round to the nearest ten, look at the two tens on either side. 27 is between 20 and 30 and is nearer to 30.
If a number is exactly halfway, like 350 between 300 and 400, we round up.
