Chains of arithmetic actions

Follow the arrows: a number in the circle, an action on the flag. Find the number at the end of the chain and restore a rubbed-out flag. Ukrainian grade 1.

Guide

A studio for Ukrainian grade 1 (the NUS textbook: the task «Do the arithmetic actions» at the start of almost every lesson). A chain starts with a number in a circle. Each arrow has a flag: +3 means «add 3», −2 means «subtract 2», +0 means «add zero».

Do the actions one at a time, from left to right. The result of each action is the number in the next circle. For example: 7, then +3 makes 10, then −2 makes 8.

The flag +0 does not change the number. At the end of the chain write the number in the last circle. In one task a flag is rubbed out: write it with its sign, for example +3 or −3.
